The rural people in the project areas are use open places and kacha/pit for natural call. This is in-hygienic and non-scientific, and for this reason children’s and other family members are suffering various diseases. To overcome this situation and ensure healthy pollution free environment, SSUS has initiated sanitation activities for its group members and community people. SSUS has opened centers for low-cost slab-latrine production and distribution under Senbag, Noakhali district. To ensure 100 percent Sanitation, SSUS is giving knowledge and technology through demonstration and training. The organization is trying to change current behavior through series of sub-activities. From the very beginning i.e. 1999, SSUS has been implementing Water and Sanitation program with the technology of NGO Forum. Already 25 tube wells and 1500 water sealed latrines have been installed. Developed 1 latrine production centre for DWSS and continuously producing water sealed latrines for the community people and the community people are consuming the produced latrines, because, they have become aware about their health and sanitation.
